72-1416. Control of school property; library services. The school board shall have control of the school-district property, including the school building or buildings, schoolgrounds and all buildings and structures erected thereon, all furniture, fittings, and equipment, such as books, maps, charts, and instructional apparatus. The school board may open the schoolhouse for public purpose, under such rules and regulations as the board shall adopt. The board may enter into contracts with public library boards to authorize such boards to use the library facilities of the school district to supplement the facilities of the public library; make such rules and regulations relating to such school libraries as they shall deem necessary; and appoint librarians.
